My Proposal Story – Paul Hulkow
My proposal story started one special night with my whole family and my fiancée’s family arriving at LaSallette Shrine. La Sallette Shrine is a church known for its incredible Christmas light display. My fiancé thought this night was to get our families to meet and spend a nice night together.
My proposal started when we gathered at the prayer stairs and awaited the singing of Silent Night. I could hear my heart pounding as I stood behind her with my arms wrapped around her. As we listened to Silent Night being sung the lights came on. I started my speech I practiced for so long. Fighting through the tears of joy, I ended on one knee. As I looked up, she could barely squeeze out a YES between the tears. Oh it was such a beautiful and a very memorable moment. It was so special.
After all the excitement settled a little by, we walked through the paths of lights and she got a chance to actually look at the ring. With the biggest smile she said it was the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. It was a 2carat princess cut in solitaire setting.
